A little late

I know I promised these pictures awhile ago, sorry :)  We've been busy, and now we're getting ready to go out of town for 2 weeks so it's been laundry and packing the last few days.  Anyways, here are a few pictures for you.  I'll try to post some while we're out of town, but I'm not making any promises.  I will take lots of pictures though so you can look forward to that when we get back.

We've got to figure out what to do with those curls.

He's checking to see if I've noticed that he took one of Daddy's hunting DVDs off the shelf.

13 months old

I can't believe how fast the past year has gone. At 13 months old Caleb is so much fun.

He's walking like a champ, although he still spends some time on all fours.

He's still such a happy guy and so smiley. He had his picture taken yesterday and he was all smiles. Makes it hard to pick and choose what to buy :)

He sleeps great, although the days of sleeping until 8am are gone. He's become an early bird and rises with the sun, a little tough for me, but we moved bedtime a little earlier which gives me and Charles more time together in the evenings, which is very nice.

He still has 2 (sometimes 3) bottles a day because I can't get him to drink enough milk from a sippy cup, but the plan is to be done with bottles completely by the time baby #2 gets here.

He eats great. He's become quite the little piggy in the past few weeks.

He's such a little sweetie, and we love him more and more every day.

I'll try to add some new pictures later today so check back. :)

Busy, busy

The past week was a very busy one.  My sister and I taught vacation bible school every morning, which made it busy enough, add to that Charles being out of town the first half of the week, he and I both having colds, a trip to the pediatrician and eye drops for Caleb (pink eye) and trying to figure out what to do with him since he couldn't go with me to church for a couple days.  Needless to say .... BUSY.

But it was alot of fun.  The kids in our class were great, so cute and sweet.  (It was Pre-K, by the way) and everything went just about as well as it could have, except for a stomach virus that attacked a few classes.  Thankfully our class stayed healthy.  Caleb's pink eye cleared up within a day of starting the eye drops, Charles came home, and our colds are slowly but surely getting better.

And now for this week.  Hopefully our colds will be gone, for good, and Lord willing Caleb won't catch it.  He has his 12 month pictures taken on Thursday, which is technically 1 day before he turns 13 months old, so we're still good :)  And my brother has surgery at the end of the week (keep him in your prayers on the 22nd).  Another busy week after that, working at SOS with our church (we adopted a week) and then it's vacation time.  I look forward to that.  Until then, we're just taking it one week .. or day ... at a time.

Pregnancy Update

Everything is still going well with this pregnancy.  Morning sickness (all-day sickness, whatever) is finally coming to an end.  It did last longer this time, by about 3 weeks, so maybe that's an indication that this one might be a girl.  Who knows.  We'd be perfectly fine with a boy or a girl.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat, which was great.  I hadn't heard it since my ultrasound 6 weeks ago, so it was nice to be able to hear that little heart beating away.  I'm having a few issues with my blood pressure, I had the same issues when I was pregnant with Caleb, but it's not anything that causes concern, so I'm not worried about it.  Basically, I HATE going to the doctor, something about it just makes me nervous, so my BP is almost always high when they check it.  I take it regularly at home and promise them it is always normal or below normal at home, but they don't like seeing it high at every appointment.  But there's really not much they can do about that.  Oh well.

I'm more tired with this pregnancy than with the last, but that might just be because I'm chasing a 1 year old around all day.  And add to that the fact that I am such a night owl, and have a hard time going to bed before 11 or 12, but the little man has no problem waking me up at 6:30 or 7, at least a few times a week. So I'm tired.  But the little man still takes great naps, so I try and catch up on a little sleep when he's napping.

I go back to the doctor in 3 weeks (because we'll be out of town in 4 weeks, which is when I would normally go back) and then at my next appointment, once we're back in town, I should have my 20 week ultrasound and we can find out whether this little one is a boy or girl.  I can't wait to know!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

New Design

The blog has a new look.  I was tired of the way it was looking, plus I just enjoy that sort of thing, so I changed it up a bit.  It's still a work in progress.  I need to come up with a new title for this blog, because "and little man makes three" isn't going to work for too much longer, so for now I just have a temporary title at the top of the page, until we come up with something new.

Any suggestions?  If you have one just leave it in the comments.  I want to keep the same sort of idea, but I'll need to include the little man and baby #2.  It might be easier once we find out if this little one is a boy or girl, which will be the end of August, for those interested.  In the meantime, I'll just stick with what I have.

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July weekend!!

We've spent the weekend eating, swimming and watching fireworks. Saturday night we went to some local fireworks and even though it was a late night for the little man, we had alot of fun, and he really enjoyed the fireworks. If it weren't for the noise I think they would have put him to sleep, he was one tired boy!

Playing with daddy - makes Mama a little nervous :)

I passed the camera off to Charles for a few minutes.

Love, love, love this picture. Typical Caleb ... all smiles.

Just relaxing, listening to the music, and waiting on some fireworks to start.

Happy 4th everyone!!

A Letter to Caleb

My sweet boy,
You are getting so big and I can't believe you are already ONE!  You are a busy little boy, always on the move, but I love every minute of spending my days with you.  You make me happy, make me smile, make me laugh.  You're just the cutest thing.  I love you so much and can't wait to spend the next year watching you grow and learn new things.

You're daddy and I are so proud of the sweet and kind little boy you are growing up to be.  You smile at almost everyone, and you love to make people laugh.  You share your toys and food and anything else someone asks for.  You are so good at obeying daddy and me, even though sometimes it's hard to do.  You have made our life so much better, and we can't imagine it without you.

I love you Caleb,
     Mama
