A busy few weeks

We've had a busy few weeks around here.

Ethan was born on December 20th and we were at the hospital until Wednesday the 22nd.  Then we headed home just in time to get ready for Christmas, which was alot of fun this year.  Caleb isn't quite old enough to understand what's going on, but he definitely understood opening presents.  He had a blast ripping off wrapping paper and playing with all his new toys.

He's warming up to Ethan too.  He ignores him most of the time, but he doesn't like it when he cries and he wants to "hold" him occasionally.  I can't wait until Ethan gets older and they can actually play together.  They will have so much fun!

I haven't been able to get any great pictures of my boys together yet, but we've made several attempts and this is the best we've been able to do so far.

Little Ethan had some issues with jaundice over the past week.  He had a biliblanket at the hospital and ended up using 2 biliblankets (these blankets that put off ultra violet light which helps break down bilirubin) for a week at home.  We were thankful he didn't end up back at the hospital over Christmas, but our pediatrician did everything she could to keep that from happening.  We finally got rid of the blankets on Tuesday night, and it is so nice to be able to carry him around, and leave the den with him.  It was very frustrating having 2 foot cords hooked to his blankets!

Ethan has been such a good baby so far.  He sleeps (alot!!) and eats and hardly ever cries.  And I know I'm completely biased, but he is ADORABLE and so tiny compared to Caleb.  Caleb weighed 8lbs when he was born and maybe got down to 7.5lbs before he started gaining like crazy and got very chubby.  Ethan was only 6lbs 7oz, and got down to 5lbs 14oz before he started gaining back, and he still seems so little.  He weighs about 6lbs 5oz now, so he's almost back up to his birthweight.

We also celebrated Charles' birthday this week.  28 years old!  Here's a picture of Charles with his boys, and that's Caleb's "picture smile".   We need to work on it.

I know this was kind of jumbled, but I just wanted to update while I had the chance and I'm going to try and post more often now that things have settled down a bit.

Ethan Charles

Introducing our newest little man, Ethan Charles Clowers.

I was induced on Monday and after a very quick labor (thank goodness) we got to meet little Ethan.  He was born a few weeks early because of my pre-eclamapsia so he's a little smaller than Caleb was, but still a pretty good size.  He weighs 6lbs 7oz and is 19.5 inches long.

Things are going great so far.  He'a been sleeping and eating mostly (must be nice) and hopefully we'll get to go home in the morning.

Caleb isn't quite sure what he thinks about Ethan at this point.  At one point this morning he said he wanted to hold him, actually he said "yeah" when asked if he wanted to hold him, and got on the bed with me. But Ethan started crying and Caleb pushed him away, but we'll get there.  Caleb has enjoyed all the extra attention he's been getting the last few days, getting to spend the night with Nanny and Poppy and playing with all his aunts and uncles.  We'll see how things go once we're back home and he realizes that Ethan is here to stay.

Ok, now what you've all been waiting for ... pictures.

There will be many more pictures to come, but these will have to do for now, hope you enjoy!! And in case I don't get around to updating again before Christmas, I hope everyone has a very blessed Christmas.

Hello Again

It has been so long I doubt anyone even looks at this blog anymore, but it's about time for an update.

We have some big changes headed our way over the next few days.  Most of you know that I'm pregnant, 36 weeks and 5 days pregnant to be exact.  But some of you might not know that I have preeclampsia with this pregnancy and because of that am being induced at 37 weeks.  That's right ... 37 weeks ... as in 3 days!

We are very excited and I am, of course, a little nervous, but this little guy will be here before we know it.  At my last doctor's appointment I had an ultrasound and based on the measurements taken, he weighs 6 lbs. 13 oz.  Sounds good to me :)

I go in on Sunday night and will be officially induced bright and early Monday morning.  So we're having ourselves a little Christmas baby.

I promise to do better updating on here, and there will be an update soon after he's born with pictures.  I know that's all anyone wants to see anyways!  So make sure you check back Monday evening or Tuesday morning.  I hope everyone has a very blessed Christmas this year.
